Performing Arts Repertory Company

The Performing Arts Repertory Company (PARC) is a non-profit (CFC Code 65766) performing group in-residence at the Ballet Academy, Beltsville, MD.

PARC's Mission

The primary activity of The Performing Arts Repertory Company (PARC) is the performance of workshop demonstrations in public and private schools as an opportunity to expose children of all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds to the genre of performing arts.

Education and Outreach

The performing company travels to schools in Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties to participate in Parent Teachers Association (PTA) sponsored fine arts workshops, performing costumed dance pieces and instructing workshop participants in the basics of movement performance. PARC repertory dancers perform at school wide assemblies throughout the State of Maryland.

Spring Show

A secondary activity of PARC is its annual, full-length performance of ballet repertory pieces and story ballets as part of a spring showcase of dance, with daytime shows particularly directed and marketed towards public school field trips in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, and to other youth groups, such as Home School Associations, Boy and Girl Scout Troops and daycare providers.

PARC Celebration of International Dance

The Annual PARC Celebration of International Dance allows PARC to collaborate with other non-profit art organizations. It showcases performances of a variety of dance techniques that are culturally and stylistically diverse, such as the Creative Dimensions showcase sponsored by Jayamangala Dance Company. The showcases include performers of all ages and with various skills ability. PARC exposes children to other dance and theater through organizing workshops with visiting artists such as Synetic Theater, Hua Sha Chinese Dance Center and dance companies and venues.
